I started chasing my main goal: "becoming a famous photographer" in 2002 by following my basic education and training in photography in a town near the small village in the northern part of The Netherlands where I grew up. I was granted a place on the Academy for Photography (Foto Academie) in Amsterdam in 2003. Thus I moved to live, study and work as a fashion photographer in the Big City of Amsterdam. I graduated as a professional photographer in 2006, exposing my work in Amsterdam. I have assisted a number of great and renowned photographers. In this way I have slowly gotten to the core of the fashion photography world. Since 2006 I am working as an independent photographer with my own studio.
I am building a network of models, agencies, professional stylists and make-up artists. What makes my work stand out from the rest is that I can turn the commercial work -with cliche photographs as we often see in the fashion magazines- into refreshing new work in a way that puts fashion photography back on the front of fashion where the fashion makers meant it to be.
I like to work with partly nude models but my photos stay fashionable all the time.
In the past 2 years I have published in several magazines in Holland, but also worked abroad for clients in Berlin, Crete, Venice, Lisbon and London. I also did shoots with celebrities like Irene van de Laar, Froukje de Both and the Caesar Twins.
At this moment I am working as photographer in a television program 'Model in 1 Day' for Dutch television Net5, which became a big success in 2008 and will be continued in the season 2009/2010.
In the second half of 2009 I will extend Lutske Photography to Germany, so from August 2009 on, I will have an office in Amsterdam and Berlin as well.
Lutske Veenstra, (1983)
